Hello! My name is Brit

I’m a UX/UI Design graduate from DesignLab. I’m a creative person that has a passion for making products that are not only visually pleasing, but also user friendly and inclusive to all users.

For the past twelve years, I have been working as a massage therapist. Massage has been a great field for me being able to help others with pain management, but I’ve been ready to make a switch into something more challenging and creative. I feel that my experience with massage has translated greatly into design. I’ve gained great communication skills as well as the ability to be empathetic and focus on a clients needs. I transitioned into design with a push from others in my life. I have multiple friends that switched to coding and UX/UI and have encouraged me to finally make this change!

Ever since I explored the field of design, I’ve been more aware of everyday design in my life. I used to only think about websites visually as a user, but since starting I’ve realized how much thought and depth goes into design. Not only making sure it’s visually pleasing, but also understanding different user perspectives.

I take pride in my love for learning and growing and I am looking forward to collaborating with others to continue to do so. I’m ready to join a team and be able to work with my future colleagues to create great work and be in a space where I can learn and grow in design. Throughout my design program, I’ve been able to gain experience and receive feedback from my mentor and peers, and it has created a bigger drive to work with other experienced designers to continue to learn.
